Man Called Otto To Be Out On Sony Soon

A Man Called Otto, directed by Marc Forster and written by two-time Oscar nominee David Magee, is planned for a theatrical release. Although It’s based on the well-selling novel A Man Called Ove by Swedish novelist Fredrik Backman. The Swedish film adaptation of the novel was nominated for two Oscars in 2015, including best foreign language film.

Mariana Trevio, Rachel Keller, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo round out the group, which begins principal filming later this month in Pittsburgh. SF Studios’ Fredrik Wikström Nicastro, Rita Wilson, and Playtone’s Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman are among the producers. 2DUX2’s Marc Forster and Renée Wolfe, as well as Magee, are executive producers. Financing is provided by SF Studios, the company behind filmmaker Hannes Holm’s 2015 film adaptation.

Otto (Hanks) is a cantankerous widower. He progressively learns the value of forming connections with his neighbours while keeping a tight eye on the neighbourhood.

Jon Freedberg, Sony Pictures executive vp, content strategy & business development, and Joe Matukewicz, Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions’ Stage 6 Films head, were in charge of the negotiations. However, CAA Media Finance, Lichter Grossman Nichols Adler Feldman & Clark, and Craig Emanuel of Paul Hastings negotiated on behalf of the directors.
